Description
The Northern Nevada region has many roadside weather data collection sites (Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) elements) that collect weather conditions for the purposes of reporting driving conditions to the general public. The information is also used by public safety and transportation management and maintenance agencies to support roadway restriction and closure decisions during times of inclement weather.
